    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I felt that I was shown a good summary of what the role as a chartered surveyor might include. Furthermore, the colleagues I worked with were friendly throughout the internship; they took the time out to explain tasks and I wasn't left to my own devices.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I would argue that I felt most valued during this internship than any other I've had. In previous years where I've had an internship seat I have felt that the work I was given was delivered for the sake of giving me a tasks and not to help the team in any way. As a result, I would argue that I felt very valuable in my team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager made herself available to me whenever I needed help. So I would say that my line manager gave me support to a large extent. Even when my line manager was absent from the office I was encouraged to call if I needed clarification on any task that I had been given. The support and guidance given was not to the extent that I didn't learn but to the extent that I was able to learn at a comfortable rate.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis I was given enough work to keep me busy throughout the day. There were no days where I would have to sit and wait for someone to give me work but instead I was given work before the need for me to ask arrived. The work given was not to the extent that I drowned in my work but it was enough to keep me going without a lot of pressure.
