    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 week internship at Cushman & Wakefield in their Edinburgh office. I learnt a lot and would happily work there full time.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I thought everyone was very friendly and welcoming. They were easy to talk to and interesting. Because I did my internship in a small office, it was easier for me to form relationships with the people I worked with.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Most of the time I was given clear support and guidance, however I would have liked a bit more feedback on the work I was doing and what I could improve on.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I thought I had a good balance. Some days I had less work, but I was never bored.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given some responsibility, but as much as an intern is allowed to be given. I attended some meetings where I was asked my input which made me feel involved.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am currently doing a MSc in Real Estate and the skills and projects that I learnt and worked on have helped me understand the reality of working in real estate and the kind of tasks that I could be involved in later in my career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • General atmosphere was friendly and chatty.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I thought the whole organisation of the internship was great. The introduction day that interns had at the beginning was very interesting and a great way to be introduced to Cushman & Wakefield. I can't fault the organisation of the overall internship.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They are now considering me for their Graduate Scheme role.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, as I am currently applying for their Graduate Scheme starting in September 2018.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • They took me out on my last day for a meal and some drinks, which was great fun. Everyone I met was lovely and very friendly.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As I was in Edinburgh, the prices were not too bad. Therefore it was cheaper than if I had done my internship in London.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I don't think there was much nightlife in the area that I worked in. It was more of a business area.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • No.

    2/5
