    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight week at PwC is an amazing programme and unlike any other programme of its kind! This is the unique opportunity to shadow a senior business leader at PwC and gain a real insight into what it would be like to work for the firm. I bonded well with the woman I was shadowing and really enjoyed my week spent here.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Due to the unique nature of the insight, the programme is completely tailored to your needs and therefore, I felt extremely valued on this programme. As it is a one on one insight programme, my business leader did everything to ensure I got the most out of the programme and was well invested in my personal development.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Although my business leader was extremely busy, due to the extremely demanding nature of her role, I always felt well supported and she guided me through my each piece of work. I was given an introduction before I began the week and I always knew what I had to be doing.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I absolutely developed skills that will benefit me in the future! I developed skills from general activities, such as attending meetings and vastly developed my presentation and analytical skills. The skills that I developed will benefit me in any future career, as well as back at university. The insight is very beneficial for skill development.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • As this is not a ‘normal’ insight as such, it does not follow a standard structure. A lot of it is down to the discretion of your business leader, however, my leader went out of her way to ensure that I had a well structure and coherent programme. Everyday as different and I felt I got the opportunity to experience ‘real life’ at PwC.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I found the offices at PwC to be lively- everyone that I meet was really friendly and helpful. Employees were dedicated to their roles and there was a culture of high achievement. There was a good team spirit amongst colleagues and my team was welcoming and really inclusive when I joined.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Good personal development.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight is very beneficial for understanding what it would be like to have a full time role. I was able to understand more about working hours, work-life balance and the overall company culture at PwC. As you are shadowing a business leader, you can a real understand of what a full time role involves.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Great for understanding company culture!

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content is valuable in helping decide on a future career path. As your days are spent shadowing, you get a real feel for whether this career path is for you or not. The only limitation is that you are based in one single department so you don’t get a feel for other areas of the business, although there are some networking opportunities to meet other employees.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I received a generous salary during my time on the insight programme.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • The primary purpose of this insight is to network with and shadow your female business leader and therefore, the networking aspect of this programme was incredible. My business leader was able to provide me with very beneficial career advice. I also had the opportunity to meet with lots of other inspiring employees at PwC.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Really great!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I found out about many opportunities that employees could get involved in outside of work. There are many social events organised by PwC, such as the annual Christmas party. Furthermore, there are sports teams that employees can join, which is a great way to unwind after work. There are also charity opportunities to get involved in, with employees able to take one day off a year in order to volunteer.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would absolutely recommend this insight programme to a friend. I learnt so many new skills and had the opportunity to shadow a very inspiring business leader, who was genuinely interested in my personal development. It is an amazing opportunity to meet new people and get a ‘real’ insight into what working life is like at PwC.
