The Role
I enjoyed the internship a lot. I was nervous before beginning the internship but soon after starting, I was put at ease.
I felt very valued and appreciated. My colleagues and managers were very appreciative of the work I did for them even when they were stressed, they made the time to thank me for my help. My colleagues took me out for lunch and on socials and invited me out after work.
Every task I was given was fully explained and if I had any questions, everyone was happy to help and make sure I understood everything.
Perfect amount of work. Never bored but never had nothing to do. I worked 9-5.30 every day and only stayed late (until 7pm) twice.
I made some excel models myself and people came to me with questions about them, so I feel like I had a lot of responsibility. Everything I did was checked though, so the responsibility wasn't too pressurising.
The work wasn't very relevant to my degree, but was relevant to my future career.
The Company
Very pleasant. Everyone was friendly and had a laugh while working.
Very well organised. The buddy system meant that if you had any questions, you could ask them, and the training days in Windsor were very well organised.
A lot. There were three days of training in a hotel at the start which went through the basics with us before we started in the office. Then, on individual projects, the teams would spend a few hours explaining to you what to do.
Company Parties/Events
Very good. All of the interns in my group were offered graduate jobs.
The Culture
Yes, we went out about once a week.
Travel was expensive. Drinks also expensive. Typical London prices.
Good. Typical London nightlife
Because the internship was short, we didn't have the opportunity to join sports teams or anything, but we did socialise after work together.
