    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement has been varied, offering a wide range of experiences, with no two days the same. Throughout my placement I have gained insight into various Human Resource practices, familiarising myself with company policy and procedure. I have had the opportunity to become involved in numerous different projects and have enjoyed interacting with various different departments, being exposed to the professional environment.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team I work with are very professional and I have been welcomed with no issues. I am treated as an additional member of the team opposed to as a placements student. I feel that I am treated asset within the team and I am given work to this effect.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Throughout my placement so far I could not have asked for any further support. Review meetings have been held at regular intervals during my probation period to discuss my progress, any training requirements and any issues. Management and supervisors are always professional with constructive feedback and willing to offer support.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the nature of the position there are variations in the work load, this has enabled the development of my time management and organisational skills. I was quickly given my own admin based jobs to support alongside day to day task and this has ensured that I am never lost for something to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My workload has increased steadily at a rate which I am happy with. My work is always checked, this eases lot of pressure off as any mistakes are picked up on and returned to me for amendment. Overall I feel that the responsibility given it just enough to feel that I am contributing to the team without feeling overwhelmed and out of my depth.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • EGGER place an emphasis on the personal development and professional learning of all employees and therefore the training provided throughout my placement has been vast and varied. My training ranges from industry specific knowledge provided through the companies KOMPACT courses to externally recognised training through excel levels 2 and 3 provided, both of which I feel have been beneficial.
