The Role
It was a fantastic experience which gave me a genuine insight into what it was like to work for Goldman Sachs
Everyone in the division was extremely welcoming and supportive. They took the time to get to know each of us and show interest in the projects we were working on.
Support was readily available throughout the entire internship program. We were each given a buddy and a mentor which was a really good system which meant there was different levels of support in place. A culture of openness and transparency also meant it was very easy to raise any issues you may of had.
The working hours were very reasonable with the flexibility and independence given to you to stay as late as need to get the work done. It heavily depended on the projects you were working on and the meeting you had scheduled for that day. Nearing the end of the placement you were understandably much busier as you were meeting deadline and aiming to finish your work before you left.
It was unbelievable the amount of responsibility you were given. It was clear that the projects you were working on had been well thought out and actually had an impact on the division. The projects were all very varied and across all parts of the division so you got a complete overview of how your work fitted in to the bigger picture.
The culture of feedback was extremely helpful - 2 reviews during the internship meant you had the opportunity to really improve your areas of development and work on building skills you may not of had the chance to use prior to the placement. You were also able to use the training and skill material available to full time employees which was very beneficial.
The Company
It was a really positive environment that was dynamic and had a welcoming atmosphere as the flexible seating meant that you got to know a lot of people in the division.
The internship structure was very organised and really highlighted the care taken to ensure it was successful. Having projects across the division meant that you had the opportunity to work with different managers and see how each business line operated.
The company really did invest in you right from the beginning of the placement. Sessions were organised throughout your time there to develop skills and hear from colleges in many other locations.

Company Parties/Events
The future employment prospects are very appealing. The fast changing and dynamic work environment and the room for flexibility make this division stand out.
The Culture
All the interns got on really well and everyone in the office was very welcoming. There was also the opportunity to meet with interns outside our division on may occasions.
London was very expensive in comparison to other places in the UK, it is something you just have to get used to. Living within walking distance saved travel money.
After work drinks on Thursdays and Fridays was very common and there were many bars in close proximity.
They was an opportunity to partake in a Community Team Works Event with the other summer interns and work placements which was super fun.
