    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My summer internship was an excellent experience. We had many training and networking events to learn all the skills needed to be a successful intern and get to know many juniors, seniors and other interns within the firm. Overall, it was a perfect insight into the firm's business, culture and people. I can strongly recommend anyone passionate about finance to apply for an internship at Goldman Sachs.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The culture at Goldman is really great. Everyone appreciates your help and effort a lot, both junior and senior people you work with. Your colleagues in turn always help and support you as an intern. This results in a great working atmosphere of mutual appreciation, which also promotes learning. Moreover, it was very easy to make friends with analysts and the other interns.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If needed, I could always ask someone for help and support. The people are very supportive and take their time to explain you something, no matter if it's highly technically or just very basic work-related questions. People strongly encourage you to ask questions and are open to share their knowledge and experiences with you.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were very busy and others rather calm. This strongly depends on the projects you are involved in as an intern. On average, the daily workload was doable and there was enough time to participate in the events for interns. Especially in the beginning there was enough time to get used to the tasks. To sum up, the workload was very balanced.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As a am studying finance, the skills I have developed during the internship were indeed very helpful for several courses. Beyond, I truly have learned a lot for life, such as how to work more efficient. I have further significantly improved my communication skills throughout the internship.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was perfect. It was always fun, from early in the morning until late in the evening. Of course, it was still a very professional working atmosphere. I really liked to work with the people and the general atmosphere encouraged questions and conversations. Everyday, I really liked to go to work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was organised perfectly. The events for interns were spread over the whole internship and neither too long nor too short. This enabled it to get to know many people, including seniors, juniors and other interns. I could not imagine a better organisation. Still, there was enough time to concentrate on work.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Personal training and development was one of the most useful aspects of the internship. The firm heavily invests in it.

  • I could not image a better social scene among the interns. I've never seen a place where you can make friends and get in touch with people that easily.
