The Role
I had an amazing experience throughout my placement, which saw me develop strongly both professionally and personally. I always felt sufficiently challenged and was constantly on a steep learning curve. At the same time, I received plenty of support from my supervisors and colleagues, and felt like a truly valued member of the teams I worked in.
My colleagues made it clear that I was a highly valuable member of the team, which was also reflected by the incremental responsibilities I was given. I received constant guidance and support throughout my internship, and received feedback frequently, which helped me become an even more valued member of the team.
I received constant guidance and support throughout my internship, mainly from the team I was working in. I had someone to turn to in case I was in doubt right from the very start, and I was taught new concepts and techniques almost on an everyday basis, which was partly due to the challenging nature of the job. I also received feedback frequently from members of my team, which helped me develop my skills even further.
I always felt that there was a sufficient amount of work to do. Most of it was highly challenging, and I even managed to develop some of my skills when working on some of the relatively more mundane but nonetheless necessary tasks. Occasionally I felt that there was more to do than the amount of time I had at my hands, but I realized that by becoming better at managing my time and tasks, I got better at dealing with exceptionally large amounts of workload.
I was given a large amount of responsibility throughout my placement. This came hand-in-hand with a steep learning curve and a willingness to always try to perform at my very best.
I feel that I have gained invaluable skills, both professional and personal, that will assist me in my remaining academic studies and beyond. On the professional side specifically, I developed my financial knowledge, analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, as well as IT skills, among others, which were all essential parts of my everyday job.
The Company
While people were clearly focused on their work at hand, the atmosphere was welcoming and fun to work in. Specifically, I felt that the passion that people had for their job was clearly reflected in their approach to work, as well as in the dynamics among and across teams.
The placement had a clear structure that was made clear to us in the beginning.
On top of providing training prior to commencing the job, the firm made sure that I was learning and developing throughout. Firstly, my colleagues were constantly helping me to develop both professionally and personally. Secondly, there was a structured programme throughout the placement where other interns and myself were set certain tasks on which we were given training and feedback. Finally, the firm also encouraged training via Goldman Sachs University, which offered a multitude of opportunities to learn various skills.

Future employment prospects within the organisation are highly appealing to me, offering a multitude of opportunities and continued support from the firm.
The Culture
Yes, in general there was a good opportunity to meet people and socialize with both other interns and colleagues.
While living in and socializing in the city was relatively costly, it was in line with my expectations of living and working in London,
