  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I genuinely enjoyed the internship. I was given interesting and challenging tasks to complete and was well integrated into the team.

  • I felt valued by colleagues as they took their time to explain concepts to me and were open to me asking questions. They helped me develop skills.

  • I had a strong support network at GS. I was assigned an HR mentor, a mentor from my business unit as well as a buddy from my team.

  • There were times that I was very busy and other times that I was not busy at all.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given much responsibility as I was able to work on live deals. My input was important and much valued.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed during the internship will be of great use for my degree studies. During the internship I had to work towards strict deadlines and deliver high quality work. I have become more efficient as a result, which will certainly be of use for my studies and for my future career.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was were well organised and structures. There were a number of networking events, speaker sessions and training sessions. All of which was a great addition to the desk work.

  • The firm invested heavily in our personal training and development as they provided us with a strong mentorship program and other useful resources.

  • Future employment prospects at the firm are very appealing to me. I enjoyed the work I did at the firm and the firm provides great career development.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living around the City of London is quite high yet the social life was dull there.

  • Although there were a few bars in the area that I worked in, most of them closed after midnight.
