The Role
I really enjoyed my placement with PwC, it challenged me on many different levels and made me raise my efforts to reach these new heights, which has benefitted me massively. Apart from the work side, PwC and my team made sure to hold social events to make sure we weren't too stressed and to ensure we enjoyed our work life.
I was constantly told how my team valued me as a member, which was then shown when they gave me more responsibilities as the year went on. I had weekly meetings with my team leader or manager and they reassured me of my standard of work and kept me motivated to keep working hard.
My management and team leader, especially my team leader, gave me guidance and support constantly throughout the year, through weekly meetings and feedback via email.
Very busy. Once I was trained up I was always busy, which I preferred as I was learning more and made the days go quicker, rather than doing nothing.
For a placement student, I was given more responsibility than most. Even though there were graduates on my team I was made responsible for holding team meetings when the team leader was not there. I was also working with partners and directors on a daily basis on important cases in their work as well.
The work ethic and motivation I gained from my placement will definitely benefit me in my studies, along with working in a team and managing people which I now feel I am much better at. Beyond my studies, there are other transferable skills I gained from my placement that will stand with me throughout my career.
The Company
Very friendly. Hard working but we were made sure to never be too stressed by the support of our senior team
There is not a more organised business than PwC.
I was put in a brand new team so they invested lots of time and money into my training, lots more than others entering the firm.
