    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my time at Linklaters. The four-week vacation scheme was very well organised. I sat in two practice areas over the four weeks, which I found to be a great opportunity to understand how the firm works. I also thought that the scheme was a good insight into the type of work that a Linklaters trainee is typically tasked with. Furthermore, I really enjoyed the socials, and I thought everyone was very friendly throughout the scheme.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that whilst the work I undertook will help me to a certain extent in my degree studies, it will help me even more during the LPC and when I'm working as a trainee because I now have a deeper understanding of the work undertaken at a city law firm, and also of the important role of trainees at Linklaters.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • As aforementioned, I think the vacation scheme was very well organised. Furthermore, I think it is great that Linklaters gives vacation schemers the opportunity to sit in two practice areas over the four weeks. I particularly enjoyed the sessions during which a few partners and associates from several practice areas took the time to talk to the vacation schemers about their work and practice areas.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Linklaters invested a lot in myself and the other vacation schemers. Whilst we spent a lot of time in the practice areas that we were sitting in, most days we would also have a few sessions either with the graduate recruitment team or with partners and associates at the firm. These sessions ranged from the graduate recruitment team giving us interview advice to partners and associates from several practice areas talking to us about their work and practice areas. I feel like Linklaters put a lot of time and focus on the personal training and development of the vacation schemers.
