    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my week at PwC. I learned a lot about the different departments and careers available within PwC and also the career progression routes that I could take. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and I got to work with two different clients during my week there.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my week at PwC, everyone was very genuine and friendly. I was treat like any other member of staff and I felt comfortable in the office. Everyone was happy to take time away from what they were doing to make sure that I felt welcome and answer any questions I had.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of advice and support from the whole team during my insight week, everyone would go out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and answer any questions that I had. The staff were happy to arrange a meeting with me just so I could learn about their department and ask them questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree isn't related to finance, so for me the skills I learned at PwC didn't really transfer back to University. However, I did learn a lot about how the business works and get to go out of the office to work with external clients which I found really interesting. I also learned general skills such as networking which I will be able to use at University despite it not being a degree specific skill.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very well structured, I was kept up to date with new meetings that had been scheduled for me via an online calendar and reminder service. I had no long gaps in my timetable and the week flowed quite well. There was also a lot of variety in my timetable which meant that I wasn't bored during the week.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere in the office was great, it was a very relaxed working environment and there was a focus on self motivation and flexibility of working hours. I didn't feel pressured or stressed at any point during my week at PwC and the staff were all really welcoming and happy to show me around.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I felt that my insight week gave me a good understanding of what it would be like to work for PwC. The company culture was explained, I got to see several different departments of the office and the different career paths were explained clearly to me whilst I was there. The recruitment process for Undergraduates was also explained clearly as to what my next steps would be within the firm.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It helped a lot - I was not expecting such a relaxed company culture at PwC but the office has a very good working environment. There in an emphasis on self motivation and PwC trusting the employees to work independently. In return, employees are allowed to have flexible working hours to suit their lifestyle.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid for my time at PwC, which I thought was very generous for an insight week. I was also reimbursed for my train travel and hotel stay costs for my interview and assessment centre, as there was not an interview venue near to where I live. I was also loaned a laptop to use during the week.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There was plenty of opportunities for me to network with people who work at PwC in different departments. If I wanted to find out more about a career in a certain department, there was always someone who was happy to take time out of what they were doing and answer my questions and tell me what it is like on a normal day in their job.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend the PwC insight week, and I have already told a few of my friends to apply for next years' recruitment cycle. I think it's a great opportunity to help you decide which career path is for you and to find out what it is actually like to work for PwC. I also got more practical experience than I expected from the week, which is great for gaining experience for the future.
