    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Throughly engaging internship - everyone was very friendly and keen to get us on board in all tasks. We were given a balance scorecard from which we were assessed throughout the internship. We were also assigned a line manager who we had weekly catch up's with to ensure that we were getting the most out of the internship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was given a vital role in one of the main projects and was made to feel that my comments and opinions were taken into account. Managers are eager for you to play a pivotal role in the projects so you feel valued a lot.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Met with supervisor at the end of every day and we had a catch up and how i felt things were going. Also had catch ups with senior management on how we were finding the placement and whether their was anything we needed help with or anything they could help us with.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The first week was slow due to us having to complete the online tests and other admin stuff however we were quickly given our own projects to work on, in addition to tasks set by the central internship programme including: Charity, Digital Champions etc. However, Lloyds do stress the importance of a work - life balance so were encouraged to take our holidays and speak up if we felt overwhelmed.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot of responsibility was given as we were PM of the project we had bee given and this meant at one point I was helping to manage over 15 colleagues. Not only that we attended senior management morning meetings and were often given key tasks as a result in order to achieve the objectives for the day.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Has made me realise that Lloyds Banking Group is a great employer and will be applying for the graduate program. Ha also helped me to develop my confidence skills as project managing meant having conversations with key stakeholders and also carrying out various presentations to senior management
