About You
Very social and enjoyable. Teach First look after you with accommodation, and anything you need or are worried about. Great first week of training however the days were very long and you were exhausted by the end of the programme.
Very valued,Teach First welcomed everyone and put a lot of effort into enhancing your skills and encouraged you to go on their LDP Scheme.
Plenty, never felt not supported. Quick responses from emails if there was ever a problem.
Teach First focussed on 8 competencies which of course will help you for their scheme but these skills are so valuable in every career path you will take. Therefore by even just writing on your cv you took part in the insight programme, you will be more valulable to any schemes you apply to in the future.
The Company
Never a spare moment, everything was planned to the minute perfectly. Although this meant it was very full on all the time.
atmosphere was always so friendly and everyone there wanted to succeed and put in lots of hardwork.
Invest lots of time and money.
Great insight. The LDP course is a very hard few years and the insight gave a brilliant over view. If you were thinking of applying for the LDP then I would fully recommend trying the insight programme first as you will realise how much is involved and hopefully persuade you to apply!
The social side of teach first was definitely shown in the insight. As we had past LDP members talk to us, we knew that this would be the same in the company/charity and peer support would be much needed.
Very helpful. I eventually chose against teach first but I absolutely loved the insight programme, but just realised it wasn't for me in the insight. Therefore what we learned about ewhat it was like there was a tremendous help for me to decide my future.
Everything Else
Paid £250 per week and they paid for accommodation which was most helpful. Although the expense of living in London and the transport is more than you would expect.
Not huge amounts but if you were determined to I'm sure you could have networked very well.
As they put you up in accomdation, social opportunities were very easy.
YES. Loads of opportunities to sign up for volunteering and other work, this was such a fun part of the programme and I loved it.
YES. Brilliant to get a glimpse of what Teach First is like and even if you decide against it, its great experience with Teach First so highly looked upon. Plus well paid and great opportunities to make friends.
