About You
The insight was very interesting and extremely helpful. Unlike with a lot of insight weeks, PWC really showcase the work you would do if you were to join the business. With so many sub teams within the Deals department, you are exposed to a variety of people and clients and really get a feel for the business. Although you have no official responsibility, the employees really encourage you to get involved with their work, ask questions and bring your own ideas to the table. PWC also provide you with suitable equipment (Laptop etc) so that you can access their online systems and find out more about the company whilst at work too.
The recruitment staff were extremely helpful in answering any queries or questions I had throughout the week.
The Company
The insight week was well structured as we spent a day in each of the different sub teams within the deals department. However, the week wasn't so structured that there was no flexibility if I wanted to spend more time in one team over another. This was great as it meant I could really get as much from the week as I wanted to.
Lovely offices and lovely people. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly.
As it was only an insight week, training was limited. The aim of the week was to give us an idea of what each of the teams do without the pressure of official work responsibility.
Shadowing multiple individuals really gave us insight as to what we would be doing if we joined the company. We also had the opportunity to talk to lots of graduates about their experience and learn first hand about the day to day tasks we could be doing in an entry level job.
You spend a day learning more about the culture and values of PWC and going through useful interview hints and tips. This is very helpful as it gives you a better understanding of the benchmark that interviews assess you against and a better idea of precisely what they are looking for.
Everyone was incredibly helpful and honest in their opinion of the company and their role. They were all very willing to give advice and guidance too which has been super useful in helping me decide on my future career moves.
Everything Else
The scheme is very well paid.
There were networking opportunities at every stage of the week. LinkedIn is very useful to keep track of who you've met and everyone was more than willing to give you their contact details etc.
Only a week so not very applicable.
The recruitment team were very helpful in giving us this information. In addition, all the colleagues seemed to be involved in at least one extra curricular activity which they were happy to tell us all about. The culture sounded very enjoyable, relaxed and appealing - definitely somewhere I'd want to work in the future.
Absolutely.
