The Role
PwC's Assurance department was tough but rewarding work. I was placed in the same team for the entire placement which allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge on particular projects and I felt this helped me to grow. I learned a lot in the space of 11 months and was introduced to many new things.
My colleagues and I got on brilliantly. Having spent many hours together, we quickly became like family and spent time together in and out of the office which allowed for a very cohesive team when working on tougher projects.
PwC provide not only a Manager on the team but a People Manager who addresses any problems you may have and also goes through all your professional feedback with you which allows you to develop and grow with the firm.
PwC Assurance works on busy seasons so there are extremely busy times and some much more dull times
A lot of responsibility was given to me and it increased steadily over the course of the placement.
The skills I have learned will definitely assist me in my degree and when I return to my role as a graduate having received an offer.
The Company
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I received a graduate job offer before finishing my placement.
The Culture
PwC hires placement students in the same batch as each year's graduates and so you join in what very much feels like another school year. It provides a really positive and fun atmosphere to have fun.
I had my placement in London which is naturally very expensive but the salary reflected the higher cost of living.
