    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my time at PepsiCo greatly, from the get go the job role was challenging but very enjoyable. My way of learning is by doing and at PepsiCo they really understood me and what made me tick therefore making the whole experience more enjoyable and rewarding as they took the time to understand me.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued at PepsiCo. Every member of staff that I met/bumped into was more that happy to help me or ask for my expertise on matters. Even by top level staff I felt valued. During my Internship I had the opportunity to meet some important people and even in their busy schedules they took a great deal of time to spend on any questions I sent their way.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support and Guidance was given everywhere during my Internship, there wasn't any point in time were I felt I was alone. From the beginning, we were given mentors, people we could turn to to ask any question. But also the members of staff that were running the programme couldn't of been anymore helpful, they made themselves easily approachable and gave numerous contact details so we could reach them if ever in need.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This depended on how hard I worked, but it was a very good balance. I always had something to do and always would with a can do attitude, if anything I could of been more busy.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots. At the beginning it was very daunting, but that was swiftly fixed by my mentoring staff who made me feel very at home and comfortable with my responsibilities. There is no doubt though, that if it all became too much the staff would be more than happy to help me out.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • skills for life! The skills I have learnt at university didn't fully make sense until I had applied them to a real life situation. At PepsiCo I have developed on skills and more importantly gained so many new vital skills to take forward in later life.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • As I was in the field for 7 out of the 10 week programme most of the time was on my own, this was daunting at the beginning but through facing my insecurities I have developed so many skills and met so many lovely people. My time in head office had a great atmosphere, it was amazing to get all the interns back together and work on projects in a team environment. As I am a creative person I found the offices slightly dull, but thats just me!

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was overall organised very well. On some occasions organisation levels fell but this was only due to the changing of some activities to best fit the internships needs. Organisation will be improved on next years intake as I believe the company has learnt a lot from my intake year and has so many new exciting opportunities

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I found that being a PepsiCo employee is a fantastic job. The company really does invest not only money but time into your individual learning, they understand that not everyone is the same. They are very successful in utilising your strengths but also developing your weaknesses. They have truly taught me a lot about myself, how I work and what I am good at which I can't thank enough.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Car

    Working from home

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I think very average. At PepsiCo there isn't many internship or grad programmes which I think the company would benefit from

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Amazing relationship with fellow interns. I have made friends for life. It was fantastic to be involved in a programme with such great intelligent people, I have learnt a lot from the company but I have also learnt a lot from my fellow interns.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in London but I still managed to socialise. Everyone is in the same situation, students! During weeks at head office, the company would pay for everything though which was amazing they really did look after us, and at these weeks it was very social, we all had dinner and drinks together.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good, London always has something to do whatever the occasion.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really on a weekly basis. This year the interns did get to go to festivals and work with one of PepsiCo's amazing innovative brand, Naked. This experience was amazing, was great to again work with fellow interns.
