  • Very busy, every day there were new tasks and things to learn about. employee development is key within enterprise as it always looks to help you further your understanding of the importance in having a balanced work schedule.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • During my placement I always asked what I could do to improve myself. I always looked to take on new roles and develop my understanding. Once a task was successfully completed, my managers built great trust in me and allowed me to take on tasks using my own initiative and resolutions. During times of short staffing, my managers allowed me and put trust in me to take on management style roles within the branch. this allowed me to develop my understanding and also help those around me more in their development.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have no doubt that this year and the experience I have gained from it will help me in the development and progression with my studies in the future. I have learnt key skills such as time management, communication skills, self discipline and many more traits. Overall, I feel as a person my mind is more open to others and I am able to deal with issues more accordingly.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was very bubbly, long term customers developed a great relationship with us and the actual employees working within the office all knew each other well and as a result the branch operated successfully. We all respected and understood each other, due to our great understanding we were able to raise any issues that may have risen from the beginning and tackled them to ensure we maintained a branch which relaxing and enjoyable to be in. despite many of us coming from various backgrounds, with different beliefs, we were able to put our differences aside and work effectively as a team!

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Employee development played a major role within the placement year as management helped to set up key goals and targets which I aimed to reach throughout the year. In addition to this, we had regular training sessions which helped to develop our understanding of the company as well as the importance of why various procedures are followed. Due to everyone getting on well together, it made the role so much more enjoyable and allowed the time to fly by!

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The area group of which I worked in (central London) was quite good, there were regular events for those who wanted to socialise and everyone was always welcome which felt good. I believe more events could be done to help those working in branches and those working in head office interact a bit better, however these are two completely different departments.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living wasn't extremely high, however there are branches situated throughout the country which means some areas may be entirely different to others. As I worked in London, it is considerably more expensive than other cities however the job role is so rewarding and financial gain is great which covers it.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • GREAT! ITS LONDON.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there are events and social activities for everyone. No matter what their shape, size or back group and beliefs. This meant it was quite easy to settle in as there were loads of opportunities to make new friends and find something new or entertaining to do.
