The Role
I found the experience enlightening due to instant incorporation into an active team.
Highly valued by all. Great social side to balance hard work.
Good support available from line manager and from peers.
Very busy for most periods. If my tasking was concluded, I was able to find more work from other team members.
Some responsibility was given to carry out initial work with appropriate levels of supervision.
The skills I developed should prove very useful, with experience given on different types of software and calculations.
The Company
The environment was very cooperative and encourage communication between subject matter experts.
The internship ran very smoothly with support from HR and management from day one. In particular, the IT support was superb.
I feel that I was given appropriate time on active projects in order to develop my skills wherever possible. This was balanced with completing necessary work to advance the project.
Very appealing, I intend to apply for a graduate role within the next two years dependent on degree progression.
The Culture
There was an excellent social aspect with weekly social break out sessions within the working day.
Manchester City Centre has a wide range of pricing dependent on specific location. I reside outside the city in a suburb with reduced living costs.
The nightlife in Manchester is excellent although it becomes slightly quieter during University leave periods.
Due to the length of my stay (5 weeks), there was no time for external activities apart from social drinks.
