    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I absolutely loved my placement year at PwC! The culture within the firm is so supportive and employee focused. Extremely friendly people and I had various projects to work across different industry sectors which was really insightful.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The best part of working with PwC was that every employee is always valued! I was nominated for our Sales & Marketing awards which was a wonderful way to appreciate and recognise the work that I've been doing this year.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They always stress on the fact that there's no such thing as silly questions. I always made sure I asked questions and clarified any doubts or concerns that I had and there was always someone in the team who was willing to help me with this.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I split my time between the Forensics and Transaction Services marketing teams every week which meant that I had quite a bit of work. However, since I was always given the option to work on project I was most interested, I enjoyed being busy!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • During my first couple of months I spent most of my time learning from my managers and helping them on ad hoc tasks. However, by the end of my placement, I have led various projects which was extremely exciting!

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Every week you learn something new at PwC be it soft skills like stakeholder management or technical skills like Tableau, excel, etc.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Personally, I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere in the office. I expected it to be extremely hierarchical. But that wasn't the case at all! Partners often came round our desks to talk to us despite their busy schedules. Most people are friendly and it's nice to see that everyone smiles/greets one another even if it's an office with 2500 people in it!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Initially our placement program wasn't organised very well. But once we raised this issue with the new person who took over the program and they made every effort to make our program much better. So thankful that they got involved with the placement program!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were loads of training session that I could attend. It depends on how active you are on seeking these opportunities. Most of the training sessions I attended were extremely useful and I'll be using the learnings during uni and in the future as a professional.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They don't offer grad jobs in sales & marketing, but I've been fast-tracked to join another part of the business and only have my final interview to go.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • At my induction, we were only a group of 10 placement students who were based across the country. But there are many socials that are organised by business units where you can meet more placement students and grads which is what I did. My team would also organise our own socials at least every 2 weeks which was always something to look forward.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's London! It can never be affordable especially if you're working in London Bridge or Charing Cross area! I lived in zone 3 so my rent wasn't too bad and I had an 18+ oyster card which gave me a third off tube fairs.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are loads of pubs and places to go out around Covent Garden and Borough market which is extremely convenient after work. The only problem is that most places are expensive and it depends on how much you're willing to spend.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
