The Role
Large office with a friendly atmosphere, ability to gain lots of experience of the organisation through liaising with other teams during projects, mentor scheme and shadowing opportunities.
Valued as a member of the team with real responsibility from day 1.
Tailored to the individual. Independence given for own projects, but supportive environment for any concerns. Manager was always available for questions.
Busy but not overwhelmed, regular weekly meetings with manager to adjust work plan and projects as needed.
Full responsibility of own project, with support available if needed. Project involved liaising with other teams internally as well as external stakeholders and this was done independently.
I have developed existing skills, and learnt new skills particularly in areas such as project management, strategic communications, utilising partnerships and creation of resources through software such as SharePoint.
The Company
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Recruitment process was well organised and simple with a clear point of contact throughout. Lots of opportunities for personal development over the 12 weeks, with development sessions organised regularly and weekly socials.
Significant investment of time into regular personal development sessions across a wide range of areas, and skills building via workshops i.e. excel.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Lots of jobs available across a wide range of departments, with a preference for internal recruitment, therefore after completing an internship there is a significant chance of successful further employment with the organisation.
The Culture
Office in Angel centrally located, lots of bars and restaurants within a short distance, Weekly socials held for interns at local bars and opportunities for fundraising together.
Relatively expensive area to live due to being in central London, but many interns commute from home or in zones 3/4 and travel in. The organisation will reimburse all travel expenses and up to £4 for lunch per day.
