    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement these last few weeks, being in one office for that amount time really allowed me to get stuck in to projects learn estate and complete the work required.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very much so. By giving responsibility it showed me that I was valued and that I could complete the work that was required.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • All member of staff were very welcoming to my questions and more than happy to show me and explain the work that they do and what work I could participate in.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy, having smaller jobs that I could dip in and out of meant that I always had something to do even when there were fewer people in the office which was really good.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given a good amount of responsibility during my placement, as was able to take on responsibilities but also have the support of others to help me complete it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel the skills and knowledge I have gained during this work experience have been a really fantastic opportunity. The amount this placement has shown me of how my degree and what we are lectured at university will play a role in later job roles have been really appreciated.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was friendly and everyone works really hard.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. I had my own desk, work schedule and everyone was aware that I was here on placement and happy to involve me in the work.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel a lot of time went in to making sure I understood what I was doing and why. The team were very happy to explain everything in depth and give me lots of opportunity.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very, I look forward to submitting an application in September.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • No other students of placement but I was invited to drink with colleagues.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was able to commute from home which kept costs down.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in Yeovil/Taunton that busy, which when coming to my applications later in the year I would like to hopefully be based in a slightly busier location where there is more opportunity for socialising outside of work.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not that I was made aware of. I felt the office kept their social life and work life very separate.
