The Role
Completing an internship with CRUK has been a very rewarding experience. All the staff have been very friendly and always willing to help. The working environment is relaxed and you have the opportunity to meet with people from other departments as an intern.
Everyone has been really friendly and always willing to help.
My manager has been amazing. She has always given her time and help to me if I don't understand a task or want to clarify something.
I was always busy with the usual daily tasks or my projects.
I was asked to organise one of the middle sized events which was a great learning experience. I also was given the opportunity to rewrite the team's communications to their volunteers, introducing health facts to make them more engaging.
CV, interview and application sessions were organised by HR as well as a one-to-one to look at CVs. This was helpful as it gives you an idea of what HR are looking for when you come to apply for jobs in the future.
The Company
The office environment was great! It was a very relaxed environment which I wasn't expecting but really liked. It meant that if you wanted to have a chat to someone from your team, or another team, you could during the day.
The placement was very well organised from the moment you applied. You are always kept in the know and once you are there, you are always well looked after. You have the opportunity to take part in various activities at work including organising intern fundraising events which give you the chance to get to know the other interns as well as other people at CRUK.
We had CV sessions and were able to apply for a mentor

I would definitely apply to CRUK after graduating.
