  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had an amazing year at IBM, I was given early responsible which I thrived upon.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My team were very welcoming and helping when I started my placement. Everyone worked hard together to complete the work. I will keep in touch will all of them.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a line manager within my team and we worked in the same office and had meetings weekly. I also had a Professional Development Manager who I met with on a monthly basis. Both were on hand if I needed any assistance.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My role was busy all year round, I had long hours most days in the week. This was not a negative though, I enjoyed the level of work.

  • I was given the responsibility or running the selection process for graduates and students and trusted to run with it.

  • I believe that all I learnt on my placement will help me in the future.

  • Everyone was hard working, but then on the other hand, everyone was friendly.

  • From day one, the organisation was spot on. The welcoming induction, the reviews and my day to day tasks.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I received training throughout and at the end of the placement I was nominated for a summer placement which involved travelling to the Global headquarters to present to the HR Global Leadership Team, so I was able to develop my presenting skills at an executive level.

  • I was based in Portsmouth so everything was reasonable.

  • The nightlife wasn't great, but the people we were with made it better.
