    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The Internship was a great experience and gave me a thorough understanding of the culture and career possibilities at Unilever. I have gained transferable and most importantly build contact to employees and other interns. Everything was provided and well scheduled and organised. I enjoyed the fact that the insight is not only listening to presentation but also includes activities

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone respects your presence at the internship at Unilever and there was no time that I have felt left alone. Support was throughout the insight available but you won’t be put in the situation to make us of it. Everyone at the company was very open and to have a chat with you. This allowed me to task all my questions and learnt valuable career tips.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance available was plenty. At the beginning you’ll get a timetable with all the activities and phone numbers of in case in need of support. But throughout the entire internship there is a supervisor present all the time who can solve any possible issues or questions. However, I personally never had to make use of support.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think one of the best thing about this insight at Unilever was all the transferable skills that I have gained as a result of all the networking event and activities. Skills like communication skills due to several presentation or my networking skills have improved significantly by talking to senior managers of Unilever.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was well structured. I followed a well planned and timed schedule. Everything from breakfast, pick up, activities or networking events were outlined and handed out at the beginning of every event. There was no any confusion at any time and it allowed me to prepare for the next day in advance.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was throughout the event was professional but very fortunately very relaxed and open at the same time. The culture at Unilever is very pleasant and everyone seemed friendly and enjoyed working there. In addition, the other interns were very motivated and ambitious individuals who made the whole experience much better.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company Unilever has invested a lot for only a few days. Everything from paying for the transport, organising accommodation, events with senior managers and working with employees during activities were all very positive experiences and only reflected the big investment of the company in order to provide a good experience.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This internship helped me a lot to figure out what I want to pursue in life. Being a marketing intern I have learned a lot about marketing and how different it actually is from what I have envisioned. Nevertheless, I loved it and especially being part of such a large organisation attracted my interest.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • In my personal point of view the insight helped me a lot in getting a taste of the company culture at Unilever. Seeing the open space, colourful office, free Ben & Jerry ice cream, other discounts for their own products are all signs of a great culture. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there and to talk about their own experience. Graduate scheme students were very positive about their time there.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • The best thing about the internship was the you do not have to incur any expenses to take part. Everything will be reimbursed for your transportation (in my case train, bus and cab) and it was mentioned that for international transportation something can be figured out. At the internship itself everything was provided such as accommodation and food.
