    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This is one of my best job experience so far. The mission are interesting and I am often given the choice between projects. I feel like my proposition are taken into account.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like a real member of the team, involved in projects as far as it is possible during a short term placement. Team drinks are organized on a regular basis and there is a really community of interns for advice, lunches, casual discussions during and after work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management is providing support on demand. If the intern is doing nothing, they won't care. But if you are proactive, asking questions, proposing new ideas, they will listen to you.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The balance is correct, tend more to bored than busy. It is sometimes the responsibility of the intern to take initiative, make his own research and offer to do something.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My manager makes me really feel like a junior engineer. Of course, we are still learning but I was quickly assigned to real project and responsible for tasks.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I spend times with my managers at the beginning to explain them what I had studied and my job was really aligned with that. I set objectives for this placement and I assumed I made progress on all of them.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • With the interns and within my own team, the atmosphere was really nice, friendly people, lunch time and team drinks. On the other hand, people from other teams were quite distant and tend not to speak with each other. We don't really know the colleague working next to us on completely different projects.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Help is provided at every step of the organisation. HRs were really attentive even to personal issues like accommodation, moving, opening a bank account... Transport have been reimbursed and the salary is sufficient for living.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As a member of the team, I was involved in the team trainings. I am also given access to online trainings.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was offered a job in the team. Nevertheless, the company is not massively recruiting.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Definitely. Placement students come from everywhere in Europe. Managers are really tolerant with tea breaks to socialize.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is definitely one of the most expensive city in the world and even the suburbs are still very expensive.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lot of good pubs but I am not fond of nightlife anyway.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • London offers a large range of activities form tourism to any fun experiences.

    4/5
