    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • KPMG is a really demanding employer. I had to work a lot and even do stuff for people that I had never seen before. Nevertheless, this is what I expected and also like to a certain extend. Hence, I consider my internship at KPMG as really valuable and would recommend it to everybody interested in audit.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt really appreciated at KPMG. A lot was expected and I even had to do lots of research beforehand but as soon as I earned respect by delivering good results, I felt that the work environment got more relaxed and I was more free with allocating time and effort.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During my insight, I received quite a lot of guidance. Everybody was eager to help me. Sometimes, people seemed to not be approachable and a bit stressed, but I guess this depended a lot on the situation and time. And I can imagine it to be similar all over the audit industry. As long as you are not too unhappy working independently and figuring stuff out yourself, you will have a great time at KPMG.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I gained at KPMG will definitely help with both my studies and my future career. If you want to go into audit, it is firstly necessary to have completed an internship in this industry and secondly you will need these skills. Hence, this internship was of high value for me.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I think the atmosphere was quite pleasant. Everyone was friendly and my fellow colleagues were all very open to network and to get to know each other. This made the few days more chill and gave everyone the chance to give their best without being ashamed to make a mistake.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The internship at KPMG was a great experience filled with friendly people. I completed a spring week at another company before this one and I can say that the atmosphere at the Spring Programme at KPMG was hands down more pleasant. Senior managers took their time to network with us and graduate took their time to hang out with us and give us tips to get into the company.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • To a great extent. The presentations were really helpful to show the career possibilities and the group tasks involved real life tasks that showcased the daily life of the employees. I definitely want to work KPMG in the future and it showed my finally what this career path will be right for me.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It helped me a lot to decide about what I want to do later in life. I was very unsure about where life would take me but this internship gave me direction. I know now what it is like to work for a big company that is prestigious and all the benefits you’ll get when you are an employee there.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight was well designed and helped me a lot to gain an understanding of the culture at KPMG. The internship was only for a few days but it was enough to sense those things. I would have never gained this insight from reading reviews on the internet, it is something you have to experience.
