    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A great opportunity working for one of the top firms on some of the most exciting projects. There's only so much one can do within a short time frame, but based on the number of projects I was involved in, it is fair to say I did a lot, which should help in my development.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A team of brilliant minds and it showed. Staff were willing to help and clarify things; if not possible at the time, direct you to the right places or person

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Same as above, given tasks to do and feedback given. Would reassign or direct you to the right people to ensure you remain busy (that is, if you want to, which I wanted to)

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Periods of highs and lows but I sought out tasks and staff were helpful in assigning me. Some tasks are exciting, some you don't really want to do but you have to, just like in Uni.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given a fair amount of work to do considering the time frame. Got busy especially towards the end of the placement, so I assume they were feeling me out initially.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • New software such as ROBOT and safe learned. REVIT training also provided. I didnt really do hand calculations but other interns did. So each persons experience varies depending on your manager and the tasks available or assigned. Overall, these skills should serve me well going forward

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A mix of relaxed and serious, periods of highs and lows. So it varies, generally not a tense environment but a conducive one.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Not sure how to answer this, but I believe it was well organised.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A REVIT training course was provided....not too sure how it works for graduates but most of my training was on the job

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Have to wait and see.... A nice company to work for though.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Several events including lunch, BBQs etc. were organised

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Lol...it's London but I still love it though.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Typical London life...'24hr' tube on weekends.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes but I mostly did my own thing. Many activities and sports are organised during lunch breaks and after work, so it's always worth trying at least one.

    5/5
