The Role
I really enjoyed my internship, from interacting with my colleagues, to working on the projects I was assigned and learning more about audit and the industries my clients were working in.
Everyone was really nice and welcoming. We often went out and spend time outside the office with my colleagues, and I made really good friendships that I'm sure will continue after my internship.
I could always ask someone for help if I was stuck, without feeling like I'm annoying or slowing them down. Support was always available and questions encouraged.
It varied - some days I had to stay a bit longer to finish everything, some days I was bored and had to ask around the office for something to do.
I got progressively more responsibility as I learnt more about audit. I started at doing simple tasks but after I proved myself, I was trusted with more difficult and technical tasks.
I learnt some really valuable skills, mainly technical, that I'm really happy for and I will continue to develop them after the internship.
The Company
The office was quite relaxed. There aren't any strict rules, which I wouldn't like anyway. As long as you got your job done, no one was breathing down your neck. The people were also friendly, which provided a very nice and enjoyable atmosphere to work in.
I was really impressed with the organisation, from start to finish. The training was very enjoyable and provided opportunity to interact with interns from all over the UK, and the rest was quite structured and you always knew who to come to with any problems. Furthermore, an internship project ran throughout my placement that I could take part in if I didn't have enough work.
Everyone cared about my learning and development, and there are many opportunities to learn new skills on your own through PwC's e-Learning programmes, which I took advantage of.

If you prove yourself as a good employee, you have very bright chances of securing a graduate offer and you can even negotiate on the office location and line of service.
The Culture
Yes, I got to know my fellow interns better during training and I also became friends with other colleagues through social events.
I live in the city where I worked, so I didn't have to spend too much money on accommodation. The drinks in the office were quite cheap and some events had free drinks too. But when I went out with my colleagues on the weekends, I felt like it was quite a strain on my wallet, especially since I was just an intern and didn't earn as much as them. But I think it was worth it for getting to know them better.
I enjoyed going out during my internships to some nice pubs and clubs. There are different things to suit everyone's taste.
Definitely, from day 1 people were inviting me to join them for dinners, drinks or just hanging out.
