The Role
The team were very friendly and the work was interesting despite me having limited abilities as I am not from an accounting background.
My colleagues treated me equally and found me whatever work they could, helping me to make the most of the internship.
Any queries were answered enthusiastically, and it was emphasised that their is no stupid questions.
Most of the time I was well balanced, with enough work to keep me going but not have me fall behind. There was one week where I was extremely quiet despite actively searching for work however, I was not the only one with little or no work.
I was given freedom to do tasks on my own after a briefing however people were always on hand should i have needed help.
Some crucial skills such as time management and interpersonal skills were further developed, as well as a good insight into this sector.
The Company
Everyone was exceptionally friendly. I was helped to integrate into the office further through a social event which fell on the first friday of my time there.
Everything ran smoothly. Only comment is the training was not always relevant to the role I was doing and so could have been missed, spending the time developing more relevant skills elsewhere.
All training was comprehensive for audit interns. The training for tax interns was slightly less comprehensive, especially locally. I was never taught how to use the programmes needed for tax until I started in the office, however I was shown the programmes for audit.

Company Parties/Events
The opportunities within PwC are exceptional. And even if you did not fancy sticking it out at PwC, having one of the big 4 on your CV is priceless!
The Culture
I was lucky in the fact that all of the interns got along great and the younger staff did also. This gave us opportunities for frequent meet ups outside of work.
I have visited few places better value for drinks, food, and rent as Newcastle!
The clubbing scene is excellent. There are plenty of bars which are great value. There are also some less traditional bars which offer a new experience such as Lane7 where you can drink, eat, bowl, play golf, or even karaoke!
Socials were good, as was just meeting colleagues however, I would have liked more opportunities to do some sports.
