The Role
I enjoyed many aspects of the internship, the branch I worked in Edinburgh was extremely supportive in explaining what to do when I first started. Additionally they gave me a lot of responsibility and never treated me as an 'intern'. I was always given opportunities to grow and improve.
I felt very valued by my branch colleagues and by my branch manager. I always got immediate and helpful feedback from all colleagues.
From the beginning my colleagues and managers were very helpful they talked me through every step of the rental process then let me shadow them and then let me work on my own. It was the perfect amount of guidance and independence.
One of the only things I disliked about the jobs was how busy the branch was. It did make the time fly by for the shifts but it was certainly something to get used to. But that being said, it was only busy in the mornings and the afternoons was more relaxed.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement, it was very important for my manager that I learn as much as I can during the internship. This meant that during the delegation of tasks I was given different things to do everyday so that I learned about every facet of the business.
This internship provided me with extremely important transferrable skills- I got sales experience, customer service experience, and leadership experience.
The Company
My office had a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Everyone was so nice and happy and extremely helpful.
The internship was well organized, it was clear when I had to be at the training week and where I had to be. The branch rota was also well organized and fair.
The company invested in me because I was offered bonuses for my sales.
