    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The opportunities I got while on placement were far beyond any initial expectation. For me it was 10 out 10 as I enjoyed the lifestyle that came with the job, the people I worked with and the type of work I was doing was very suited to my career path and development.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was very lucky to work in a very small team which interacted heavily with a large number of people through out the business. I felt valued not just by my own team but by all the people I worked with in the wider business environment. Naturally with any large company there are moments where you have trouble interacting with people but this is soon overcame.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support network was fantastic. Simply if you did not need help then you are left to make progress but as soon as you run into difficulty then the team are there to give advise and lend their experience to you. They also keep a close eye on what is going in case you are unknowingly running into trouble.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy most of the time but that was the nature of the job and suited my work style. There were times when the work load becomes restrictive but in those moment you raise your hand and ask for support.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given huge amount of responsibility. I became the project leader for the local business for the launch of a new product but I received a lot of support to help me with this

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • At this time it is hard to say as my placement has only just come to an end but a I now have a tool box full of life skills and confidence in my own voice.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A supportive hardworking atmosphere but with plenty of opportunities to have a joke and create and develop new ideas. Very comfortable environment to work in especially when the location of office meant that you were next door to the production line.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised. Vauxhall have many years of experience doing this so the placement is very well organised but is done in such a way that you become fully integrated into your department and are a valued member of the team.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
