About You

1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

The Springboard week provided an insight far greater than any other scheme I have taken part in. It showed us the stark reality of life at a law firm whilst showing us how fast-paced and exciting the work at such a firm can be. Further, I thoroughly enjoyed the week because I made great friends and for the first time in a law firm, felt like I belonged.

2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

Throughout the entire week I could not have felt more valued at the firm. As mentioned above, a feeling of belonging emerged from day one and this universally among the other Springboarders.

3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

Each session was expertly tailored and gave us guidance and support in abundance in a whole field of areas. For example, we obtained much support regarding the training contract application process, but also a detailed breakdown of the practice areas.

4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

The information received has improved my awareness of the commercial world tenfold - the knowledge and skills developed will stand me in good stead in the future with the Training Contract application at Clifford Chance and if unsuccessful, elsewhere.

The Organisation

5. How well structured was the insight?

Seamless aptly describes the entire week - from the trip to Paris all the way to our Breakfasts, everything ran without a hitch. Organisational perfection.

6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

The atmosphere was amazing from start to finish - I made some great friends and our Springboard group chat is still alive and kicking.

7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

I believe personal training and development was the sole aim of Springboard, and the firm heavily invested in it as such. Coming away from the scheme, I feel that this was a wise decision and has truly set me up for the future in a way I did not know possible.

8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

Despite being very difficult to reflect the realities of being a commercial lawyer in a week, CC certainly gave it their best shot. Further, sessions such as 'Demystifying the Training Contract' allowed us to hear answers to prying questions never heard before - it was invaluable in deciding to pursue this career.

9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

CC's culture permeated everything we did and the way in which one is expected to exceed expectations at every level is exciting. Further, the 'One Team, One Firm' promise is so key to the culture of the firm, and the week certainly helped me in understanding its needs.

10. How valuable was the content of the day in helping you to decide on your future career path?

For every reason above, partnered with the excellent case studies, the week's content was invaluable.

Other Information

11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

Every single day there was the opportunity to network. Most days there would be 2 or more opportunities in fact and if one capitalised on such an opportunity, you could walk away from the firm with a vast, diverse network of the most interesting and brilliant lawyers around.

13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

Open, friendly and incredibly informative.

14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

The probono talk we received was excellent and showed how if one wishes, one can get involved with a whole host of things outside of commercial law.

15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?

I cannot recommend the scheme highly enough.
