    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • As vacation programmes go, this is a really good one. Although it is only 4 weeks long you get fully involved in the Audit process going to client sites, visiting different offices and helping out with real parts of the Audit.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • When completing tasks as parts of audit it is clear that your time and work is valued and the incharges make sure the fully utilize the skills you have. You don't just get sat in the corner but put to work and the outcome is that you feel part of the team and valued.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The first day was spent at the Canary Wharf office to receive initial guidance into protocols the company use. The second day we are given a buddy which guides us through office protocol and gets us set up with the tasks we have to complete. From then on you are assigned, Performance managers, People leaders, buddies and incharges who are all their to help with different aspects during the 4 week placement.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • When speaking in relation to my degree the skills I have learnt do not come into effect that much, however if I come back to KPMG the skills I have already learnt will really help settling back in after university life.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Before starting the placement you are asked about what means you have of travelling and therefore when you arrive you are already assigned to different clients. We also are booked on to the values day and a CRS event which teaches us about the volunteering opportunities at KPMG and the outside work they do.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • KPMG is a really interesting and friendly company where everyone is willing to come up to you and talk about how you are going and if you are having any problems.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • During my first day, I was sent to the KPMG London office in Canary Wharf. Here we spent an introduction day call values day. Here they spoke to us about the companies values and how you could implement them in your day to day lives. In the middle of the scheme I had another day down in London as well where we helped a charity. During this day we also focused on our teamwork and presentation skills.
