The Role
Enjoyed my placement very much, gained lots of onsite experience which I felt helped me learn a lot more than I otherwise may have.
Got on very well with everyone and got to know people really well in a fairly short period of time.
Support was always provided should you ask for it,
As with any job some days were a lot more hectic than others, but on the whole my work balance was good.
Worked alone quite regularly carrying out surveys etc I would be responsible for preparing for site visits across the country.
Sometimes difficult to gauge exactly how far you have come before you go back to university but I feel that my knowledge has developed massively and that it will aid me in my studies next year greatly.
The Company
A good balance between a serious office environment and being able to have a joke at the right time, really enjoyed any time I had in the office.
As the company has been taking on placement students for many years, they were really organised and I had a thorough induction which covered all bases.
I received lots of personal training, which included a HHSRS training course, which helped me huge amounts when I was out onsite.
Above 25 days holiday
Travel loan
I worked alongside multiple ex-placement students that had returned after there studies.
The Culture
I lived with two other placements students which was ideal.
Huddersfield is not to everyone's taste in terms of nightlife but it has a decent student scene and I definitely enjoyed it.
The social committee regularly offer and advertise events to get involved with.
