    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Of course, work was tough due to the huge work load but I think this is normal at firms like KPMG. I was totally expecting this and everybody should, because otherwise this job is not for you. So overall, there are not a lot of points I want to complain about. I gained a lot of insights, so I’m lucky!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Sometimes, I did not feel valued as much, when managers complained about my work not knowing that I was an intern. But I guess, I cannot blame them because of this, an especially managers working around the clock and thus are stresses. So no worries about that. Sometimes, I even need a bit of pressure to work properly ;)

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Guidance was good. I was always free to ask as long as I did not pose a dumb question which I could have solved on my own as well. But once you manage this, I could have asked anybody to help me out. The work environment was really relaxed, and above all people were really motivated.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed a lot of interdisciplinary skills, such as human skills. These are really valuable not only for my career but in every situation in life. Obviously, I only have my friends’ report to compare my experience with but this aspect is definitely why I would recommend anybody to do this internship, even if you are not as interested in auditing.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was really structured. I had a clear schedule, so I always knew what to do a which time without anyone telling me. However, I was also free to reschedule tasks myself as soon as I got trust from my team. So in total, I the whole organisation was great.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very pleasant. I really liked how laid-back the whole atmosphere was. Everyone at company and the other interns were open to each other and I never felt pressured. I could always ask questions when something was unclear or raise a point. This made me feel valued and enjoyed the internship to the fullest.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • KPMG prepared a very well internship and it was great to see the amount that the company invested into us. The employees very happy to take their time and to talk with us and to answer our questions. Furthermore, the activities and presentation were really helpful to answer the questions I had regarding a career at KPMG.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • To a great extent. The presentations were really helpful to show the career possibilities and the group tasks involved real life tasks that showcased the daily life of the employees. I definitely want to work KMPG in the future and it showed my finally what this career path will be right for me.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight was well designed and helped me a lot to gain an understanding of the culture at KMPG. The internship was only for a few days but it was enough to sense those things. I would have never gained this insight from reading reviews on the internet, it is something you have to experience.

  • This internship is a great opportunity for everyone and not only for people who are interested in a career at KMPG or a career in audit. I have gained important soft skills, created great networks and broaden my perspective of what it is like to work full-time at a large multinational company.
