    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • All the workers were really friendly, particularly the trainees who you spend the most time with. The firm went to a great effort to organise a lot of social events for us and the other Vac Schemers were really friendly.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was given proper trainee work on some days, but not all. Though there is only so much a Vac Scheme student can do as they are not qualified, I always had things to be doing and people would always ask how I was.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received all the possible help I needed. The fee earners made it easy for me to ask any questions and they went out of the way to go further and beyond to make answer any questions.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Again, there is only so much you can do on these schemes. I had also already finished my studies and am yet to start work so difficult question to answer.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Overall really well, everybody got their choices of seats. In my second week, my supervisor wasn't there but this was quickly resolved.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general feeling st the firm was really good. Partners to trainees seemed to be really interested in how we were doing and most importantly, the trainees and other students were really fun.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had sessions on the firms values and also ensured that I was sat with a senior member of teams in both seats. They also organised a lot of events which all obviously cost money.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It really, really helped. You could get a sense of the feeling of the firm almost instantly and the friendly nature of it was apparent from the off. Speaking to others, all said it confirmed that it would be a great law firm to work at.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We had specific sessions on the firms values and also, by sitting with fee earners you could see the values instilled in their work.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I think most people who go into these already have an understanding of what they want to do, partiuclularly after doing a law degree. The content however was really interesting because we were given our chosen seats and confirmed to me that that was he career path for me to peruse.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were paid adequately in the middle of the scheme which was great.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • They weren't necessarily arranged or pushed for us, but I met informally with a number of partners which was great.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking and social events were all really fun and had a good balance of interactive things to be doing and simply getting to know trainees and other students.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • All trainees discussed this and a senior associate invited me to play rugby with them!

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • There is very little bad to say and it came across as a lovely firm to work at.

    5/5
