    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at Hays, I like that you aren't treated as an intern, you are treated as any other employee.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I like the fact that everyone celebrates each other successes.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was trained by the intern before me, which really helped me settle in. Also at the start of every period I have a sit down with my manager and we have a review of how the last period went and set targets for the next one.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Usually very busy, but the nature of recruitment and how fast paced it is, it never gets dull or repetitive.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • During my placement I have been given a lot of responsibility, at the start of it I ran my own desk where I had up to 55 works out at one time. With me being on the construction and property team my manager is out on visits a lot of the time and I am left to work independently and i'm trusted to get things done.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • the skills I have developed over the past year are all transferrable and will help me with what ever industry I go in to. I have been on 2 separate training weeks at the start of my placement and I have also had training in the office with other consultants from the North West.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
