    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was really interesting and we did lots of different activities throughout the week, and met lots of really nice people.

  • Everyone made a big effort to make us feel welcome and valuable to the company. They even paid us for the week.

  • We received a huge amount of guidance for every part of the week, and we were really encouraged to ask lots of questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We received a huge amount of information about a career within the technology department at KPMG, and how to succeed within this field.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Really well structured, we had different activities to do every day, with an assessment on the Thursday and a corporate responsibilty activity on the Friday.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was really good, everyone at KPMG was really friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a personal brand session, as well as lots of advice on how to succeed in interviews. We also gained some skills in using software such as Qlik.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • They did a really good job of giving a rounded view of the work that would be done in a graduate role, in particular with work shadowing on the Wednesday.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We had a good insight into the company culture by meeting lots of different people with varying levels of authority, and with the work shadowing.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It has made me really consider a career within the technology department of KPMG, and given me an insight on how to pursue this via the second year summer placement and graduate scheme.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were paid for our time, reimbursed travel expenses and given a lunch allowance which included really nice, hot meals every day.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We learnt some valuable skills about networking and its importance and were exposed to lots of different people from throughout the firm, including some directors.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They organised for all of the people on the insight week to go bowling together as a social event on the Thursday night.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • People talked to us about various sports teams within KPMG that you can join, such as netball and cricket.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes I would, it was really insightful, and gives you a great opportunity to interview for the second year summer placement and then get onto the grad scheme, so it's a great way to get into the company early on.
