    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a really interesting placement to have joined the Regional Production team, there was lots of exciting things to do like shoots and creating promos but it also taught me a lot about the industry here and how it works. I feel it has well prepared me for a job after University.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel like my team needs me to function when work loads are large and it's busy but also on a social level I feel welcomed and included.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support and advice by all team members and feel I have progressed with their guidance.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was never a consistent flow of work it's always all or nothing in the production team but for a lot of the year it has been all!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given more responsibility than expected and feel I gained a level of trust from my colleagues which lead to more responsibility, more projects and jobs.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the management skills I learnt on placement will assist me in being more organised for the final year of my degree. I didn't learn any skills that will directly help me for example on course work or on exams but my time management will definitely be better than before therefore improving the quality of my work.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It depended on the amount of work going through the team if it was light it was an enjoyable experience and everyone stopped for a chat on occasion but if the workload was high we would speak less unless on a break.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organised, there was a list of daily jobs and things I had to keep up with which kept me busy and as I went through my time here it grew and as did my responsibilities. I wouldn't say it was structured to slowly give me more to do I just took initiative to help the team and aquired more jobs along the way.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I've not had much personal training however I have been on a lot of shoots which is what I told my team I was interested in so they progressed me and had me doing different jobs on each of the shoots so that it could be a potential form of employment in the future.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would absolutely love to come back here and I think with all the connections I've made whilst on placement it's definitely a possibility!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes there is a few of us on the team and we've all ended up being really close and will most likely be life long friends, and I think the teams around us have really allowed us to do this!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living around here was expensive if I didn't have my partner with me to share the rent it would have been very difficult, but this did allow me to socialise more. If I had lived further away from work it could have been cheaper so I wouldn't say it was the location that was the problem I just chose to live at a convenient distance from work.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good after work on Fridays as many of the different teams here would go out and socialise at the local pubs and bars.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was involved in a Kung Fu class run by a member of the team here which I was involved with, there were other opportunities but none that particularly interested me!

    2/5
