Taking part in an academy programme as part of a 3 week assessment by the firm
Very much so. There was a wide range of events and activity whihc took place during the scheme, ranging from the London academy week, to working in a regional office for another 2 weeks. People were extrememly frinedly and everyone made frineds. It was an all round very rewarding experience, providing a good mix of professional development as well as allowing an insight into life at the firm.
The focus was on the summer students entirely for most of the week. Feelign that it was very much about us in London. Evening events re-enforced this. At my regional office I was given good work and others from all levels of the firm made me feel included in what was going on.
Lots of guidance both from the resource team as well as Partners and Senior associates all the way to trainees. Everyone was approachable and I never felt I couldn't ask for help when needed.
Learning how to work to tight deadlines, personally managing various tasks and cases in a diary, and the experience of collaborating with peers will be helpful moving forward in terms of managing university deadlines and beyond that when employment begins.
Very well structured. Clear defined schedule for everyone. It was easy to understand what the focus was for each part of the programme. It ran like clockwork.
positive, friendly, exciting almost all of the time!
The investment was huge. A lot of planning clearly went into the programme. The firm went to significant effort and expense to deliver a great experience to everyone involved. We felt valued and important to the firm. This included training and talks from business leaders from around the world, intense teamwork exercises, and executive level business traning. The opportunity to meet some of the firms clients was a stand out part of traning and development experience.
Allowed me to assess day to day life as it would be short term, but also provided an insight into the great opportunities that exists within the firm long term.
Very much so. The focus on social events in the evening allowed for more relaxed interaction with those at the firm where real honest conversations could take place. The culture is evident and permeates through almost every level at the firm. The culture is modern, forward looking, friendly, professional and hard working.
Very helpful. Hands on experience in day to day work really helped gain nisight into the realities of a role in the firm.
Paid and reimbursed reasonable travel expenses.
Yes, evening events and socials allowed for this, as did the various group discussions in which employees took part.
Excellent, as above, evening events were planned in the programme and they were all excellent!
Not so much, but perhaps that's because I didn't ask much about that.
