    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was in two rotations, one in a Business Partner Team, and one in a Specialist Team. The first was busy, interesting, and I had a lot of things to do. The second was quite boring, I was only given admin tasks once in a while, and rarely had enough to do despite asking. We also had a group project which was good fun and gave us a sense of ownership.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was nice, especially in the first rotation. But in the second, even though people were kind, I was ignored a bit.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • 4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Not particularly stretched, but okay.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall it was done well, but my second rotation was rather unstructured, and I constantly had to ask for things to do.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Deutsche Bank invest a lot in their employees and it shows. If you want something, they will try to give it to you (within reason).

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It's probably not the job for me, but the company has some merits, and I would consider working for them in the future.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The City of London is obviously expensive, but lots of nearby pubs had happy hours which made things pretty cheap. Lunch places are plentiful, so there's something for most tastes and budgets.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 2/5
