  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed my work placement, it was one of the most rewarding years.

  • I was valued by every member of the team.

  • There was constant feedback and supervision available at every step of the placement program.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It is a very busy and demanding job. It entails 110% effort at every step of the way and definitely requires a unique character to be able to succeed at the job.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Once the 12 weeks training is over you a fully functioning member of the management team so you will be tasked with opening and closing a store, managing staff and handling large amounts of cash on a daily basis. The responsibility you receive is great and unlike any other placement.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Organisation and a fantastic work ethic are just two of the skills that will benefit me in every aspect of life going forward, including degree and any job that I will work in in the future.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere both in store and head office. A great and welcoming place to work.

  • Brilliant, a full twelve month program was provided for week by week break down of duties.

  • The firm invests a large amount of time in the Placement students and looks to bring them back as area managers if they show enough promise.

  • The graduate area manager program is the reward for students who excel on the placement scheme.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Not really, the staff are there to work and there is a professional environment to adhere to. Little to no social aspect to the job.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living in private accommodation it is expensive in Manchester but the wage is good so not an issue.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of local pubs but I did not go out in this area.

  • Charity Football tournament.
