The Role
I really enjoyed the company culture but the work I did wasn't the most exciting stuff.
My colleagues valued my contributions and they were recognized in my reviews.
I was given support at the start of the year to learn about the network and was given help whenever I needed help to complete a piece of work.
It varied, some days were really busy. Other days I had to try and find things to do.
I was handed work to take responsibility of, they gave me some basic direction at the start and then I got on with it. I gave my supervisor updates of my progress throughout.
I certainly developed my excel skills, I would have liked to do more programming but that wasn't really available in my team.
The Company
People are really friendly and open, even the higher ups in the organization are often seen around the office. It is not a formal corporate atmosphere.
There is organized training throughout the year. There was problems at the start, we weren't told what office we would be based at until about 2 months before the start date. This meant that getting accommodation was more difficult.
There were multiple training sessions throughout the year but I didn't feel like they benefitted me in a huge way.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
There are graduate schemes which are successful. Graduates do multiple placements across the company before landing, the pay and career progression seem quite good.
The Culture
We were fairly split up across the country so we could only meet up during training days. I was good friends with my colleagues. The graduate committee set up a handful of socials but I don't think they were very appealing.
The area I lived in did not have a high cost of living.
Compared to other places in the country there is much to be desired.
There was opportunity to get involves with our charity sponsor Scope and to become a STEM Ambassador.
