The Role
I found it a useful experience and learnt many new skills which have definitely benefitted me since my placement. I probably found that the work became a little formulaic at points and would have been keen to be given the chance to develop my skills further.
I had a good relationship with my other colleagues and got to know everyone throughout the year.
I had a variety of managers with different approaches and this was a very useful learning experience for me. They offered support where necessary.
There was certainly a good amount of work to be getting on with.
I was gradually given more responsibility throughout the placement which was good.
Many of the soft skills you learn on the job cannot be learned during your degree so this was very useful and having to deal with different types of people was very beneficial
The Company
Quite relaxed which I enjoyed although the general consensus was probably that I talked too much, but perhaps everyone else just didn't talk as much
It was good in a way as I was treated like any other full-time member of the team but having a clear bespoke training programme would probably have helped take the placement to greater heights.
There was good training in terms of travel-related areas.
I look back on this placement fondly, but I decided that my future development would probably be best served elsewhere.
The Culture
Could've been better but not bad.
Lived at home so happy days for me.
Questionable.
There were a few events I went to which were quite enjoyable.
