  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Interesting topic and nice colleagues. Would like to work here in the future.

    • They seem to approve my work and give me feedback and help me if I need information

    • My manager was very helpful and always tried to support and challenge me

    • It was good most of the time, but sometimes I felt that I don't know what to do next

    • I feel the work I do was very important for the whole business and I can create a lasting impact.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I learnt a lot of new things. I'm a forest engineer and have no experience in real engineering, but I think I learnt a lot about developing new products.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Had some good fun with my colleagues. Only the aircon was really annoying.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Was not informed that I need to apply for a National Insurance number and how to apply for it, my workwear was delivered without me being notified so it sat on the shelf for several weeks, was sent around everywhere to apply for my id-card and everyone blamed someone else (Workwear and id are rather general business organisational issues than internship issues)

    • Learnt about CAD and a lot about the industry in general Was not allowed to travel for gathering information due to budget restrictions

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • A lot of fellow German students, but I rather spent my time with the UK grads

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Chichester is rather expensive, beer and food/going out is expensive

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

    • Chichester is ok for me, don't need clubs etc., lots of pubs

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • A lot of opportunities with other students or grads But most of the time I was busy with my thesis and other private issues
