The Role
I really enjoyed my placement with Siemens. I felt as though I was given plenty of opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge and I was treated and a valued team member.
Throughout my internship I feel as though I was treated the same as any full time member of staff. I was given a good amount of responsibility with the option to take on more.
My manager was absolutely fantastic in supporting my development. I was given opportunities to lead on my own projects and work on projects where I had the opportunity to network both internally and externally.
How busy I was varied throughout the year, but even in quieter periods there was always plenty to do and I never felt bored.
I was given the option throughout my placement to take on as much responsibility I would like. the further my placement progressed the more confident I became and the more responsibility I took on.
I believe the skills I have gained will benefit me greatly both on my return to university and in my future career post graduation.
The Company
The general atmosphere in my office was fairly quiet and relaxed but I got to travel often which was brilliant and allowed me to network and meet new people.
My placement was extremely flexible and is very much designed around my own interests. I had the opportunity to make it what I wanted I found to be extremely rewarding .
As an intern at Siemens you get to take part in the intern development program, which aims to build your effectiveness in a corporate environment, which I found to be brilliant and very useful.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Many interns do return to Siemens in the same department after graduation, as there isn't a grad role in my department this wasn't an option for me. But I am able to apply for other business grad schemes.
