The Role
I had a great time within Siemens. I can feel how far I have come since the beginning of this internship. Siemens is a great company really caring about its interns and their personal development.
I was surprised by how much my Colleagues valued my opinion. Indeed even though I did not have any experience before this placement my teammates constantly asked for my thoughts and made me part of the decision making. I also got responsibilities straight ahead.
I never felt lost or by myself facing problems. It is easy to find help with all the tools and portals available. Also there is a really caring atmosphere in the company.
I had been entitled with my own project to manage, that was extremely interesting. However I feel like I could have maybe been busier as it did not cover my weekly hours.
I had direct contact with clients and was dealing with complex spreadsheets and high value projects. There was no room for mistakes, as we need to keep a great standard.
I would definitely recommend doing a placement, I can feel the change and how much I have grown up since my second year of uni. Also it completely changed my perception of the working life and made me understand the importance of what I will be studying in third year.
