  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my 12 month placement. I feel like i have gained many new skills I would not have gained without a placement year.

  • I got on extremely well with all colleagues and was made to feel welcome straight away

  • I was supported by my manager and mentor throughout my internship, I was also helped by other members of the team.

  • I was given many daily responsibilities of various levels of difficulty. I was also able to take part in projects throughout the year.

  • I was given many daily responsibilities of various levels of difficulty. I was also able to take part in projects throughout the year.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe I developed many new skills I would only be able to learn in a work environment not an educational environment. I also learnt new ICT skills and a lot more about my chosen speciality Aviation.

  • The atmosphere in the office was extremely friendly and helpful.

  • The placement was very well organised throughout the year. however, access took a while at the beginning of the year.

  • We were given projects and higher responsibilities to take on. We also had reviews with management where they said how we have progressed and how we can develop.

  • There are many appealing opportunities in the company for after graduation.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All employees have a very good work and play ethic. We had the chance of attending a whole site celebration which was very enjoyable.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was able to live at home making my living cost the same as the previous year in university.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We live and work a short drive from the capital city so the nightlife was very good.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many sports teams, volunteering projects, and groups to be involved in. E.g. Womens Network and 3 Peaks Charity Challenge.
