The Role
I don't think you could have asked for more out of a placement than what Warner Bros offered. All aspects of the job, from the responsibilities given, to the social side, to the connections that you could make have far exceeded my expectations.
I felt extremely valued by my managers. They gave me a lot of work to complete, but that was only because they felt it could be handled. From the beginning of the year, it was made clear that the intern is an integral part of the department and this was made clear as the year went on.
I would have weekly/bi-weekly catch ups with my manager to catch up on my work load, or any problems that I may have. The support wasn't limited to these chats, I could always drop my manager a message if I felt I needed to discuss something or go over any issues I had.
The workload tends to come in peaks and troughs in my department. In the lead up to a release, the workload tends to increase dramatically, then would ease off after. There was always something to be getting on with, whether that be helping out another intern, or another manager with their campaign.
A lot of responsibility was given during my placement. On a number of occasions, I was given a project to manage within my team, a lot of the time this was at external events where I was the point of contact for the event staff across the weekend.
I feel the skills I have gained at my placement will definitely be useful in the future. The improvement of my time management and interpersonal skills, alongside the actual training for the job will put me in good stead for any jobs in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is one of the factors contributing to the enjoyment of my placement. Everyone is very laid back, friendly and approachable which makes the working day much more enjoyable.
The placement scheme felt like a very smoothly run operation. From the day we arrived with the introductions, to the training and support throughout the year, the placement scheme was very well run. We were eased into the placement very well during handover week and had continuous opportunities to gain support from the HR and L+D teams.
The training on offer was essentially as much as you could want. If you wanted to take an IT course, you could speak to your manager and with their approval, you could book it straight away. In regards to the actual placement scheme, training was in place for things such as 'Presenting Me' and 'Project Thinking Skills', with the aim to develop us during our time here as interns.

Unfortunately, WB don't offer graduate roles. However, as we have worked here, we can be contacted via email if any new roles open up that are suitable to us. If you can prove yourself during the placement, a job could definitely be an option
The Culture
The social side of the placement was great, with around 50 placement students working with you, there was always someone to go for a drink with.
Due to working in Central London, going out wasn't always that cheap. There were definitely ways to make the night outs cheaper, such as going to bars during happy hour. If that wasn't an option, the average pint is around £5.
There are lots of bars to go out with due to our location in Central London. You could venture towards Covent Garden and Leicester Square, or stay near the offices where there are a number of pubs to go to.
There weren't that many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work as far as I'm aware.
